RAMALLAH, Palestine: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Monday for an official visit. According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Abbas is set to meet with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday.

WAFA did not disclose additional details about Abbas's agenda during his time in Saudi Arabia. Accompanying Abbas on this visit are Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and Majed Faraj, head of the General Intelligence Service.

This marks Abbas's second visit to Saudi Arabia since the beginning of Israel's devastating assault on the Gaza Strip on October 7 of last year, which has resulted in the deaths of over 40,400 Palestinians and widespread destruction of Gaza's residential areas and infrastructure.
