Road accident in London, Indian PhD student Passed Away

London: Chestha Kochhar, who was studying at the London School of Economics, died in a road accident. The accident happened when a truck collided with him while he was coming home on a bicycle.

London: India's Chestha Kochhar died in a road accident in London. She is doing her PhD at the London School of Economics (LSE). Amitabh Kant, the former CEO of NITI Aayog, disclosed this on the platform of 'X'.Earlier she worked for a project related to NITI Aayog. A very intelligent person. A brave woman. They left us too soon. I pray for her soul to rest in peace," Amitabh Kant posted on X.

The family members revealed that on March 19, a truck collided with him while he was coming home from LSE on a bicycle. At that time, her husband Prashanth was some distance away. He immediately came and tried to take him to the hospital but he was already dead. Her father Lt Gen SP Kochhar (Retd) reached London to bring the body. Chestha, who lives in Gurugram, went there for his PhD in September itself. Earlier she studied at Delhi University, Ashoka University, University of Pennsylvania and Chicago. Served as Senior Advisor at the National Behavioral Insights Unit at NITI Aayog from 2021-23.
