According to reports published on March 29, a woman named Alexandra suffered from a fever for five days, and later, she experienced severe coughing with blood. Many citizens in different Russian cities are reportedly suffering from long-term fever, respiratory problems, and severe body aches. Despite taking medications, the symptoms do not seem to subside. Additionally, several netizens on social media have reported experiencing similar symptoms, including bloody cough, despite testing negative for COVID-19.
In response to the growing concerns, Russian officials have clarified that there is no evidence of a new virus spreading in the country. They stated that medical examinations of the reported woman confirmed that she had Mycoplasma pneumonia. Authorities assured that if a virus similar to COVID-19 were to emerge, they are well-prepared to handle it.
