Sheikh Mohamed Orders Pardon, Deportation for Bangladeshi Protesters in UAE

Bangladesh, Dhaka: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has granted a pardon to the Bangladeshi nationals who were involved in last month's protests and unrest across various emirates. This decision includes the annulment of their sentences and the arrangement for their deportation.

In accordance with His Highness' instructions, Chancellor Dr. Hamad Al Shamsi, the UAE Attorney-General, has issued an order to suspend the enforcement of the sentences and to initiate deportation procedures.

The Attorney-General also urged all UAE residents to adhere to the country’s laws, emphasizing that while the right to express opinions is safeguarded by the state and its legal system, there are lawful avenues for expressing these views. He warned that this right should not be misused in ways that could jeopardize the nation’s interests and its people.
