Sunita Williams Departs ISS After 9 Months, Landing in Florida Tomorrow

After being stranded at the International Space Station (ISS) for nine months, Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams and fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore, along with two others, are finally returning to Earth. Their return journey from the ISS has officially begun.

The astronauts boarded the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft, which had arrived at the ISS to bring them back. Following this, the spacecraft detached from the ISS and began its journey back to Earth.

The SpaceX capsule is scheduled to land in the ocean off the coast of Florida at 3:27 AM on Wednesday. Before departure, the astronauts took pictures together at the ISS. NASA is live-streaming the undocking and departure of the SpaceX Crew Dragon from the ISS.
