TANA Food Drive Serves 200 at Charlotte Shelter, Donates 1,000 Pounds

Charlotte, North Carolina, USA: Nearly 200 individuals were provided with pizza, chicken wings, and soft drinks at the Roof Above Shelter in Charlotte through an initiative organized by the North American Telugu Association (TANA). Along with the hot meals, 400 bags of canned food items with a total weight of about 1,000 pounds were also contributed.

The North American Telugu Association (TANA) organized a food service initiative at the Roof Above Shelter in Charlotte, where close to 200 people received meals consisting of pizza, wings, and soda. In addition, the association donated 400 bags of nonperishable food supplies weighing approximately 1,000 pounds. The program was completed successfully due to the dedicated efforts of TANA office bearers and energetic youth volunteers from the Charlotte region.

Young volunteers including Hassini Mallela, Pranav Mallineni, Keerthana Kothapalli, Karthikeya Mallela, Roshan Vadlamudi, Ganith Bodipudi, Akhil Cherukuri, and several others were honored by TANA representatives for their commitment and service. The leadership praised the volunteers for their determination and compassion in helping the less fortunate.

TANA officials also conveyed sincere appreciation to Kishore Bodipudi and Kiran Yarlagadda for their valuable assistance in coordinating the event. Leaders present at the program included Ravi (Nani) Vadlamudi, Appalachian Regional Representative; Naga Panchumarthi, Special Project Coordinator; Kiran Kothapalli, Team Square Chair; Madhuri Yeluri, Health Services Coordinator; and Tagore Mallineni, Trustee of the TANA Foundation.

Addressing the gathering, TANA leaders in Charlotte expressed special thanks to Dr. Naren Kodali, President of TANA, acknowledging his guidance and continuous encouragement that helped make the initiative successful. The organizers also extended their gratitude to donors, parents, volunteers, and all community members whose support contributed to the meaningful impact of the program.
