Irving, Texas, USA: Authorities in Irving, Texas, have detained ten individuals, including three men of Indian origin, during a prostitution sting operation aimed at tackling human trafficking in the area.
According to Irving Weekly, the operation was conducted by the Irving Police Department as part of its continuing efforts to combat sex trafficking. The three arrested men of Indian descent were identified as Sasi Kunchea (28), Sai Hemanth Maremalla (28), and Manoharachary Sriramula (30) — all reportedly of Telugu background.
Under Texas law, solicitation of prostitution is treated as a felony, even for first-time offenders. A conviction can result in a state jail sentence of up to two years and a fine reaching $10,000. The statute defines the crime as knowingly offering, agreeing to, or attempting to engage in sexual activity for compensation, whether or not money actually changes hands.
The sting, conducted on October 14, led to the arrest of the following individuals:
Joshua Finney, 39 (also charged with possession of a controlled substance)
Jorge Garcia-Alvarado, 35
Saul Hernandez, 20
Sasi Kunchea, 28
William Hamilton Leach, 31
Sai Hemanth Maremalla, 28
Elijah Edmon Palm, 29
Rudy A. Rose-Morales, 40 (also facing an Immigration-ICE hold)
Manoharachary Sriramula, 30
Dusty Tulk, 54
Police said undercover officers carried out operations at multiple sites, including online-listed locations and massage parlours, to identify individuals involved in the solicitation of prostitution. The arrests were part of a broader initiative to uncover and prevent human trafficking in the city.
