Washington: As part of his crackdown on illegal immigration, U.S. President Donald Trump is now extending restrictions to Green Card holders as well. Those holding a Green Card and applying for permanent residency or asylum in the future may face difficulties. Under Trump’s latest proposal, Green Card holders in the U.S. will soon be required to disclose their social media accounts to the government.
Previously, visa applicants from other countries were already mandated to submit their social media account details to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Now, this requirement is being extended to Green Card holders as well, making it mandatory for them to provide their social media information.
If this new rule is implemented, many Green Card holders, including those of Indian origin, may face difficulties. There is growing concern that this regulation could cause additional complications for immigrants, raising fears among those affected.
