Trump Orders Arrests of Masked Protesters Amid Violent Immigration Clashes in Los Angeles

In Los Angeles, the Trump administration has cracked down on illegal immigration. Immigration officers have started arresting undocumented immigrants, leading to large-scale clashes. In protest against the actions of immigration officials, massive demonstrations erupted. Protesters clashed with security forces and even set vehicles on fire, causing widespread damage. As the situation worsened, Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to control the unrest.

Most protesters were seen wearing masks or face coverings. In response, Trump made a sensational decision, ordering the arrest of anyone participating in protests while wearing masks. He posted on his Truth Social platform, saying, "Arrest anyone wearing masks now." Trump had previously stated that wearing masks during protests should not be allowed. During the recent clashes in Los Angeles, police used tear gas, prompting protesters to wear masks for protection. But now, with Trump’s new directive, anyone wearing a mask could face arrest. The police department also confirmed on social media that arrests would begin, and horse-mounted officers were deployed to manage the crowd.

Over the past few days, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have been conducting raids across Los Angeles. In a week, 118 people have been arrested, including 44 on Friday alone. One of those arrested was David Huerta, President of the California Service Employees International Union, which triggered more protests. Demonstrators gathered outside the federal building demanding his release. Officials stated that Huerta’s arrest was part of actions taken to deport illegal immigrants. Protesters responded by setting vehicles ablaze. Meanwhile, former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who resides in Los Angeles, expressed concern, calling the arrests and military deployment fear-inducing and divisive. She described the actions as cruel and expressed support for those standing up for fundamental rights and freedoms.
