U.S. Tech Giants Warn H1B Holders: Do Not Leave America Amid Immigration Uncertainty

Washington: President Donald Trump’s tightening of U.S. immigration policies is causing anxiety among immigrants. H1B visa holders are worried whether they will be allowed back into the U.S. if they leave the country. In this context, major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon have alerted their H1B employees, advising them not to travel abroad due to uncertainty about re-entry.

These companies have issued warnings stating that due to doubts about whether permission to return will be granted, employees should avoid leaving the U.S. Several H1B visa holders have already canceled their travel plans to India following this advisory, according to a report by the Washington Post.

One concerned individual mentioned that if laws change, even the citizenship status of immigrants' children could become uncertain. Indian immigrants feel that there is a prevailing belief in the U.S. that except for U.S. citizens, everyone else is considered an illegal immigrant. As a result, they are now carrying all necessary documentation wherever they go.
