United Senior Pariwar of Chicago Celebrates Christmas, Welcomes New Year 2026

Chicago, Illinois, USA: Along with the New Year celebrations, the organization also honored members who were born in the month of December.

Over 350 members and volunteers of United Senior Pariwar of Chicago came together at a community gathering in Chicago to celebrate Christmas and greet the arrival of the New Year 2026.

The event opened with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony known as Deep Pragatya, followed by prayers conducted according to Hindu customs. The rituals were led by Acharya Rohitbhai Joshi, vice president of United Senior Pariwar of Chicago, and were accompanied by devotional music.

Members of United Senior Pariwar participated enthusiastically in music and dance performances. President Ramesh Chokshi and Vice President Acharya Rohit Joshi also joined the celebrations, including a special couples Christmas dance.

Rameshbhai Chokshi, president of the organization, addressed the gathering with a warm welcome speech. This was followed by a cultural program featuring performances by local artists Naliniben Parikh, Ishan, Douceben Shukla, and Niranjbhai Patel, with musical accompaniment on the keyboard by Kamaleshbhai Desai.

The performers began with a devotional song from the film Satyam Shivam Sundaram and later entertained the audience with classic Hindi melodies. Guests also participated in garba, which organizers described as a proud reflection of Gujarati culture and tradition.

As part of the celebration, members who celebrated birthdays in December were recognized. They received sweets as a gesture of appreciation along with wishes for good health and happiness.

All attendees were presented with a box of Mathipak as a token of gratitude for their continued support throughout 2025. The evening concluded with a dinner featuring Punjabi cuisine, prepared by volunteers from the Swaminarayan Mandir.

The event ended on a joyful note as members bid goodbye to 2025 and warmly welcomed the New Year 2026.
