Her appointment follows the ouster of PM Oli amid protests against corruption, unemployment, and inequality. Nepal’s Parliament was dissolved, with elections scheduled for March 5, 2026, and Karki’s interim government set for six months.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs welcomed the new government, stating it will continue working closely with Nepal for the well-being of both nations.
