Indian Student Killed in Canada: Two Arrested with Recovered Weapon

Ottawa, Canada: The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has apprehended two suspects, both charged with first-degree murder, as the investigation into the tragic incident unfolds.

An Indian-origin student was shot and killed in Canada, with two individuals arrested in connection to the crime. The EPS quickly responded to the situation, and two people, Evan Rain and Judith Saulteaux, were taken into custody on December 7. Both face first-degree murder charges, and a weapon was recovered during the arrest, although its exact nature has not been disclosed. Authorities believe no other individuals were involved in the incident.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived promptly, providing first aid before transporting the victim, identified as Singh, to a local hospital. Unfortunately, Singh was declared dead upon arrival. The police have confirmed his death as a homicide and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The EPS released the victim's name to assist with the investigation and address public safety concerns. The homicide investigation is being handled by the EPS Homicide Section, and an autopsy of Singh’s body is scheduled for December 9. Local authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
