Authorities in Middletown, Delaware, are investigating a fire that engulfed a pavilion at Back Creek Golf Club on Wednesday afternoon. The incident, witnessed by former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski, who manages the club, saw firefighters battling flames for over an hour. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the pavilion, though severely damaged, was unoccupied at the time. As a result, the club has postponed its one-year anniversary concert scheduled for the following day.
In a statement from Ron Jaworski Golf Management, they expressed relief that there were no injuries but conveyed sadness over the unexpected fire. They thanked the swift response and bravery of first responders from multiple departments, acknowledging their critical role in ensuring safety and limiting further damage. While the Grille will temporarily close, golf operations are set to continue as efforts are made to resume normal activities promptly, including rescheduling the anniversary concert.
