Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Wednesday that the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees will be increased by 4 percent, raising it to 50 percent of their basic salary. This decision will affect approximately 3.9 lakh employees and will take effect from October 1 of this year.
With the Diwali festival approaching, the government aimed to align the DA with that of the central government, Sai explained to reporters. Earlier, in March, the government had increased the DA by 4 percent, which brought it to 46 percent of the basic pay.
