USA, Washington: PM Modi to launch Rs 83,300 crore tribal development projects in Odisha & Jharkhand, including roads, schools, and health infrastructure on Oct 2.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects valued at over Rs 83,300 crore, including a 147 km road in tribal-dominated districts of Odisha, during his visit to Jharkhand on October 2. He will also launch the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and inaugurate 40 Eklavya Schools. These initiatives are designed to enhance social infrastructure, healthcare, education, and livelihoods for tribal communities.

As part of his visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the 147 km road in the tribal areas of Deogarh, Gajapati, Mohana, Rayagada, Baliguda, Malkangiri, Gunupur, and Sundargarh districts under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) Yojana.

Additionally, the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, with a total budget of over Rs 79,150 crore, will be launched during this visit, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). 

Modi will also inaugurate 40 Eklavya Schools and lay the foundation stone for 25 more.

At around 2 pm, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones and inaugurate several projects worth over Rs 83,300 crore in Hazaribag, Jharkhand.

In line with his commitment to the holistic development of tribal communities across India, the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan will cover around 63,000 villages, benefiting more than five crore tribal people across 549 districts and 2,740 blocks in 30 states and union territories, including Odisha. 

The campaign aims to address key gaps in social infrastructure, healthcare, education, and livelihoods through 25 interventions led by 17 ministries and departments of the Government of India.

To further strengthen educational infrastructure for tribal communities, Modi will inaugurate 40 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) and lay the foundation for 25 more, with an investment of over Rs 2,800 crore.

As part of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects valued at over Rs 1,360 crore. These include over 1,380 km of roads, 120 Anganwadis, 250 multi-purpose centers, and 10 school hostels.

Furthermore, he will unveil key milestones achieved under PM JANMAN, such as the electrification of over 75,800 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) households in around 3,000 villages, the deployment of 275 mobile medical units, the establishment of 500 Anganwadi centers, the creation of 250 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, and the provision of clean drinking water to over 5,550 PVTG villages under the 'Nal se Jal' program.
