Obama joins in on rousing Biden campaign ahead of election.

Former President Barack Obama has advised President Joe Biden to step up his campaign efforts, drawing on his winning strategy and insight from former campaign aides. The advice comes after Obama participated in a fundraiser that raised $2.6 million and allowed top donors to meet both Biden and Obama. Late last year, a former Biden adviser suggested Axelrod intensify his campaign strategy, leading to irritation from Biden and Axelrod's willingness to accept the president's displeasure.

In an effort to regain support among black voters, Biden will speak at Mother Emanuel AME Church in South Carolina, the site of a racially-motivated mass shooting in 2015. Polls show Biden's support among black voters has dropped to 63%. About 24 points from the 2020 general election. Notably, at 81, Biden is currently the oldest sitting president, and if re-elected, he would be 86 by the end of his second term. Among the Democratic challengers are Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), author Marianne Williamson, and YouTube news anchor Cenk Uygur.
