The incidents of attacks on temples are causing pain to Hindu Americans and the members of Congress demanded to know the status of the investigation into the attacks on many shrines from New York to California. Regrettably, there is no evidence regarding the suspects who are attacking the temples. They explained that many Hindus have to live amid fear and threats in the wake of the attacks. Is there adequate federal oversight to ensure equal protection under the law? They asked in that letter.
The attackers who attacked a temple in Hayward, California in January were said to have written pro-Khalistan slogans. A similar incident also happened in another temple in Newark. They questioned what the government was doing to prevent these hate attacks targeting Hindus in the United States. In that letter, the members of the US Congress requested that the relevant department should provide a report to them by Thursday.
