Washington, USA: On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden will address the nation to explain his decision to withdraw from the presidential race and to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party's nominee for the upcoming November general elections.
After nearly a week at his Delaware residence, where he self-isolated due to a positive COVID-19 test while campaigning in Las Vegas, Biden, 81, returned to the White House on Tuesday afternoon.

"President Biden announced on Tuesday that he will address the nation from the Oval Office tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET (early Thursday morning local time in India). He will discuss the future and outline how he plans to complete the job for the American people."
During his quarantine, Biden sent shockwaves through the political landscape on Sunday with a social media post announcing his decision to decline the Democratic presidential nomination and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, 59, as the new nominee. This announcement followed increasing concerns about Biden's age and his ability to compete against Republican rival and former president Donald Trump.
“This afternoon, I returned to the Oval Office and met with my national security team for my daily intelligence briefing. Being your Commander-in-Chief remains the greatest honor of my life,” Biden shared in a post on X.
Biden also posted a picture of himself entering the White House residence upon his return, saying, “It's great to be back at the White House.”
This is Biden's second national address this month. He previously spoke to the country on July 14, a day after a failed assassination attempt on former president and Republican presidential nominee Trump.
