Iran, Tehran:Hamid Bidar, a graduate of Iran University of Science and Technology, was apprehended by security forces yesterday afternoon and taken to an undisclosed location. According to the Amirkabir Newsletter, Bidar, known for his activism at the university, was detained due to increased pressure on students who had previously supported Mahmoud Momtazpour. Momtazpour, an assistant professor at Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran, was recently dismissed, and security forces have since summoned 15 students who signed a statement backing him.

Bidar, who graduated in computer engineering, had been previously penalized by the disciplinary committee with a two-semester suspension from studies in 2013. As of now, there is no information available about the specific charges against Bidar or his current location.
