Eyes Open International Co-Founder Dancy D’Souza Receives Sixth GECU Award

Cincinnati, Ohio, USA: Dancy D’Souza, co-founder of Eyes Open International, was honored with the 2025 GECU Honors Celebration Award at a formal event held Thursday at the headquarters of General Electric Credit Union in Cincinnati.

This marks her sixth recognition under the GECU Cares Top Volunteer Award program, part of GECU’s Do-Good initiative that celebrates individuals with a long-standing commitment to volunteer service and community engagement across the United States.

D’Souza co-founded Eyes Open International with her husband, Harold D’Souza, and is widely known for her work as a survivor advocate and motivational speaker. The official citation highlighted her consistent leadership and sustained service through volunteer-driven community efforts.

While accepting the award, D’Souza said volunteering is an integral part of her family’s daily life and described service as personally meaningful and fulfilling. Harold D’Souza also addressed the gathering, praising her empathy, dedication, and lasting impact on both family and community.

Eyes Open International is a nonprofit organization focused on supporting survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and exploitation through advocacy, awareness, prevention education, and community outreach, with an emphasis on dignity, empowerment, and long-term recovery.
