PM Modi Invited to Russia Victory Day Celebrations by President Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow on May 9. These celebrations are held every year to commemorate the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. This year marks the 80th anniversary, and Putin has invited Modi to participate in the grand military parade. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko confirmed Modi's expected participation, mentioning that invitations were extended to leaders of India and other friendly nations to join the event showcasing Russia's military strength and historical legacy.

The Victory Day parade is an annual event conducted on May 9 in Russia to mark the triumph over Nazi Germany. As this year marks 80 years since the historic victory, Russia is preparing to celebrate it in a grand manner. Invitations have been sent to allied nations, including India. Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenko expressed hope that Prime Minister Modi will attend the celebrations.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Modi visited Russia last July, marking his first visit there in almost five years. During that visit, Modi invited President Putin to visit India, an invitation which Putin accepted, though the exact dates are yet to be finalized. Last month, the Russian Embassy confirmed that preparations are underway for Putin’s visit to India. Meanwhile, Modi and Putin remain in regular contact, discussing various global issues and frequently meeting at international platforms.
