Trump New Visa Rule: Green Cards Can Be Denied for Social Media Posts

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly planning strict immigration policies aimed at reducing the number of foreign nationals in the country. A major focus is now on U.S. visas and green cards. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has made a sensational announcement: anyone found posting or commenting against Jews on social media may be denied a visa or green card, and even existing visas can be revoked.

The Trump administration has taken a strong stand on social media activity, particularly posts supporting groups labeled as terrorist organizations by the U.S. government. USCIS stated that social media posts supporting such groups can be grounds for denying or canceling visas and green cards. Groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthi rebels are being closely monitored. Support for these groups is now seen as a serious offense affecting immigration status.

According to U.S. officials, including DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLoughlin, there is no place in America for terrorism supporters. This new policy immediately impacts student visas, green card applications, work permits, and visa extensions. Over 300 visas have already been canceled, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Even minor past offenses like speeding are being used to revoke visas, especially targeting Indian students, leaving many at risk of deportation. Fingerprint tracking and AI are being used to identify and remove individuals, marking a significant shift in immigration enforcement.
