The relationship between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk appears to have deteriorated. During the 2024 U.S. elections, the two shared a good rapport, and after Trump returned to power, he gave Musk considerable importance. However, the situation reversed due to public backlash. An audio clip circulating on social media also revealed that Vice President J.D. Vance strongly opposed Musk’s behavior. Recently, Musk criticized Trump’s stance on tariffs, indicating that the bond between them is no longer the same.
At present, Elon Musk serves as an advisor to Trump. But Trump has hinted that Musk may soon step away from this role. While doing so, Trump also praised Musk, saying he has done excellent work. He added that he personally bought one of Musk’s cars by paying a high price and stated that he did so to support Tesla vehicles.
Recently, Trump announced tariffs on all countries, with the highest targeting China. Musk urged Trump to reconsider this decision, but Trump refused. Following this, Musk criticized Trump’s trade advisor, even calling him a "fool." For now, Trump has temporarily suspended tariffs on countries other than China for 90 days.
