Sartell, Minnesota, USA: 12-year-old Raghav Shrestha was posthumously recognised by the Sartell Police Department following a tragic bicycle accident.

Raghav, a student at Sartell–St. Stephen Middle School was officially named an honorary police officer on October 8 by the Sartell Police Department after the accident claimed his life.

Sartell Police Chief Brandon Silgjord shared that officers visited Raghav at the hospital before he passed away. During the visit, they presented him with a police badge and pin in the presence of his family.

“This morning, several officers were able to be with Raghav and, in the presence of his family, honour him by pinning his badge and officially swearing him in as an honorary officer of Sartell,” Silgjord said.
