17-Year-Old Indian-American Tejaswi Manoj Named Times Kid of the Year

Sacramento, California, USA: Seventeen-year-old Indian-American Tejaswi Manoj has earned the title of "Kid of the Year" from Time magazine for her efforts in helping adults identify and report online fraud.

Her platform, Shield Seniors, focuses on assisting individuals over 60 by educating them about digital scams and promoting awareness. Time magazine highlighted, “Adults need guidance against online scams, and Tejaswi is providing that support.”

Through her website, Tejaswi teaches seniors how to spot suspicious messages and how to formally report fraudulent activities.

Time magazine introduced the “Kid of the Year” honor in 2020. Interestingly, that same year, Indian-American innovator Gitanjali Rao also received the recognition for using technology to address challenges such as water safety and substance misuse.
