5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Irans Semnan Region Amid Israel Conflict

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit near Sorkheh in Iran's Semnan Province at a depth of 35 kilometers, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) confirmed. The tremors were felt across northern parts of the country, though there have been no reports of significant damage or casualties so far.

Iran, located on the Alpine-Himalayan seismic belt, experiences frequent quakes, around 2,100 annually, with 15–16 exceeding magnitude 5.0.
