Aman Sanger, 25, Joins Silicon Valley Billionaire Ranks as Cursor’s Value Skyrockets

Silicon Valley, California, USA: At just 25 years old, Aman Sanger has become one of the youngest self-made billionaires in tech after his AI-driven coding platform, Cursor, saw its valuation surge to approximately $29.3 billion following a major funding round this month. The financing, reported at around $2.3 billion, has thrust Sanger back into the global spotlight.

Sanger co-launched Anysphere—the company behind Cursor—in 2022 alongside MIT classmates Michael Truell, Sualeh Asif, and Arvid Lunnemark. The team initially developed Cursor from their dorm rooms, aiming to transform software development through artificial intelligence.

Cursor leverages large language models to write, modify, and debug code based on natural-language commands, enabling developers to accelerate workflows and automate repetitive tasks. The platform has gained rapid international traction, with industry analysts reporting it surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue just over a year after its debut. Some estimates now suggest the company is nearing $1 billion in yearly revenue.

The latest investment round attracted contributions from major players such as Nvidia, Google, Accel, and Andreessen Horowitz. With Sanger owning roughly 4.5 percent of the company, his personal fortune is believed to exceed $1.3 billion.

In interviews, Sanger emphasized that, despite the staggering valuation, Cursor remains committed to continuous innovation and rapid product iteration, noting that the AI sector’s competitiveness demands constant attention.

As Cursor’s growth continues, Sanger and his co-founders—Truell, Asif, and Lunnemark—are becoming prominent figures in Silicon Valley’s AI revolution, with the tech world closely observing their next strategic moves.
