London, UK: Dr. Manu K. Vora, the Founder and President of the Blind Foundation for India, recently received international recognition for his contributions to education, leadership, and social empowerment.
On November 30, the World Book of Records, London, UK, honored Dr. Vora with a ‘Certificate of Excellence’ in acknowledgment of his outstanding work in Quality Management, Leadership, Professional Education, and Social Service. The award was presented virtually by Shakti Tiwari, Secretary of the World Book of Records, with Dr. Rajasekhar David, Assistant Professor at IIM Ranchi, co-hosting the ceremony.
Under Dr. Vora’s leadership, the Blind Foundation for India has initiated projects that have touched millions of lives. The Free Chakshu Daan Project alone has raised over $7 million to provide free eye checkups to two million adults and children throughout India.
Dr. Vora’s efforts also extend to education through the Free Gyan Daan Project, a Soft Skills program that has empowered 1.2 million students, educators, and professionals over the past 12 years, greatly enhancing their employability.
Beyond his foundation work, Dr. Vora serves on the AICTE NEP 2020 Implementation Plan Committee, reflecting his role in shaping educational policy at a national level. His contributions reflect dedication, humility, and a commitment to societal service.
The award ceremony featured Dr. Mamta Rani Agarwal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Advisor (Global Health), Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence, USA, as the Guest of Honour.
Dr. Vora dedicated this recognition to his parents, teachers, 15 million visually impaired individuals in India, faculty across the country, board members, donors, and his family, acknowledging their unwavering support in his mission to empower others.
