Brampton: Amritpal Khattra, Gurtas Bhullar, and Mandeep Kaur have been arrested and charged in connection with an organized auto theft operation. The accused are Canadian residents of Indian origin.
Investigators from the Commercial Auto Crime Bureau said the probe began in December 2025 and focused on a group allegedly involved in stealing passenger vehicles and tractor-trailers, along with committing auto-related fraud.
The investigation reached a key point on January 8, 2026, when police executed a search warrant at a residential property in Brampton. During the search, officers recovered three vehicles that had been reported stolen.
Police said all recovered vehicles were fitted with fraudulent Ontario license plates. As a result, multiple charges were laid against the accused, including motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, counterfeit markings, and break-and-enter related offences.
Khattra and Bhullar remain in custody awaiting bail hearings, while Kaur was released on an undertaking with conditions. Authorities added that both Khattra and Bhullar were already under court-ordered release conditions for prior property-related offences at the time of their arrest.
