Brampton, Ontario, Canada: The Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton recently hosted a significant gathering to observe the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur.
As one of Canada’s oldest and most prominent Hindu temples, the event brought together local residents, religious leaders, and elected officials to pay tribute to the ninth Sikh Guru, who sacrificed his life defending truth, human dignity, religious freedom, and moral principles.
The ceremony also honored the Guru’s loyal disciples—Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das, and Bhai Dayala—who were executed under Emperor Aurangzeb’s orders for refusing to renounce their faith.
The program commenced with a meet-and-greet session, followed by a welcome speech from Surinder Sharma. Attendees were introduced to the work of the Hindu Sikh Unity Forum, and Ravi Hooda highlighted the Forum’s efforts to strengthen bonds between Hindu and Sikh communities, emphasizing the shared responsibility of preserving Dharma and cultural heritage.
