Dallas, Texas: Renowned stage actor and film dialogue writer Burra Sai Madhav interacted with Telugu literary lovers in Dallas in a program hosted by Prasad Thotakura. Known for his witty responses, Sai Madhav spoke about his journey from theatre to cinema and his socially responsible writing style.
He debuted as a dialogue writer with Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum and earned national acclaim with Kanche and Mahanati, both of which won National Awards. He also received the Nandi Award for Best Dialogue Writer for Inkokkadu and earlier Nandi honors for TV serials Puttadi Bomma and Seetha Mahalakshmi.
At the event, Sai Madhav was felicitated by the TANA World Literary Forum, led by Dr. Prasad Thotakura, for his contributions to theatre and cinema. He was praised for continuing to support stage arts through his organization, Kalala Kanachi.
Also at the gathering, Chembolu Srirama Sastry (brother of lyricist Sirivennela) introduced his book Sirivennela’s First Guru – Sammanyudu, which was unveiled by Prasad Thotakura and presented to Sai Madhav. Prasad urged the revival of the Nandi Awards to encourage talent in cinema and television.
The event was attended by several prominent Telugu community members and concluded with Sai Madhav expressing gratitude for the honor and reaffirming his commitment to literature, cinema, and social causes.
