Washington, USA: US President Donald Trump has designated Antifa a “major terrorist organisation” following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He vowed strict action against its funders while praising Kirk as “legendary.”

Trump called Antifa a “radical left disaster” and promised federal probes into its financial networks.

Antifa, short for “anti-fascist,” is a decentralised far-left network known for counter-protests, according to CSIS.

Kirk, 31, lost his life in a gun attack at Utah Valley University on September 10. Suspect Tyler Robinson, 22, confessed, saying he opposed Kirk’s beliefs. Trump praised Kirk as “great and legendary.”
