Chicago, Illinois, USA: BSC Karaoke of Chicago hosted a special memorial event on November 30 to honour legendary Indian actor Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. The tribute gathering took place at the Rana Reagan Center in Chicago, Illinois.
The event, titled “He-Man of Bollywood” as a nod to Dharmendra’s iconic persona, brought together more than 20 attendees. Members of the BSC group performed songs from several of his films, celebrating the life and achievements of the Padma Bhushan awardee.
Committee members and journalists Jayanti Oza and Ramesh Rupani delivered heartfelt speeches in memory of the veteran actor. BSC President Haribhai Patel and Treasurer Madarsangbhai Chavda were also present at the ceremony.
Dharmendra remains one of Indian cinema’s most admired and commercially successful stars. Over a remarkable career spanning nearly 65 years, he appeared in more than 300 films and holds the distinction of featuring in the highest number of hit movies in Hindi film history.
Some of his unforgettable films include Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971), Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Ankhen (1968), Chupke Chupke (1975), and Sholay (1975), among many others.
Though he is no longer with us, Dharmendra’s immense contribution to cinema continues to inspire fans worldwide, bringing communities together in remembrance of this Indian film icon.
