US President Donald Trump denounced the horrific murder of Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old Indian-origin motel manager in Dallas, calling it an unacceptable act of violence. He was beheaded last week in front of his wife and son.

The accused, 37-year-old Cuban national Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, attacked him with a machete after a dispute over a broken washing machine. With a violent criminal past, he remains in custody without bond.

Trump blamed President Biden’s immigration policies, calling the suspect an “illegal alien” who should have been deported. He vowed zero tolerance for undocumented migrants with criminal histories. Homeland Security officials also cited immigration lapses.

The Indian Consulate in Houston is assisting the family. Community members held vigils, and nearly USD 200,000 has been raised for funeral expenses and the victim’s son’s education.
