Los Angeles, California, USA: Elon Musk Reveals Son’s Name Shekhar and Partner’s Indian Roots

During a recent podcast with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared details about his personal life, including the name of his son: Shekhar.

Musk, who is currently dating Shivon Jillis, CEO of Neuralink, revealed that his partner has Indian ancestry. “Whether people know it or not, my partner Shivon has Indian roots. My son’s middle name is Shekhar,” Musk stated during the discussion.

Shivon Jillis spent her early years in Canada. She was adopted as a child, and her father had been an international exchange student. Musk mentioned that he does not have complete details about her early life.

Shivon Jillis has extensive experience in the technology sector. She currently serves as Director of Operations and Special Projects at Neuralink. According to reports, she grew up in Ontario, Canada, and later graduated from Yale University with degrees in economics and philosophy. She initially worked at IBM and Bloomberg before joining OpenAI in 2016, where she eventually became the youngest member of the Board of Directors, stepping down in 2023.

Musk and Jillis have children together. The couple welcomed twins, Strider and Azure, in 2021, followed by a daughter, Arcadia, in 2024.

Musk also praised the contributions of Indian professionals in the United States, stating that they have significantly benefited the country. At the same time, he criticized the misuse of the H-1B visa program by some individuals.
