Bentonville, Arkansas, USA: Shishir Mehrotra, former CEO of Grammarly, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Walmart, effective January 8. With over 25 years of experience in the technology sector, Mehrotra is known for building and scaling platforms that have transformed multiple industries.
Mehrotra will serve on Walmart’s Compensation and Management Development Committee and the Technology and eCommerce Committee, strengthening the company’s focus on innovation and technology-led growth. Walmart Board Chairman Greg Penner said Mehrotra brings valuable insight as a proven platform builder who has expanded services trusted by millions of users worldwide.
Commenting on his appointment, Mehrotra said he admires Walmart’s ability to evolve while staying true to its core values and called this phase of agentic AI-driven change the most significant of his career. He previously led Superhuman and co-founded Coda, and earlier held senior leadership roles at YouTube. Mehrotra holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
