Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have intensified, killing at least 40 Palestinians and injuring several others, according to hospital sources.

The Israel-Hamas war, ongoing since October 2023, has claimed over 58,000 Palestinian lives and displaced thousands. More than 1,200 Israelis lost their lives in earlier attacks carried out by Hamas.

In a renewed push for peace, President Trump met Israeli PM Netanyahu twice within 48 hours to advance ceasefire negotiations. Trump said Israel agreed to a 60-day ceasefire, with final proposals expected from Qatar and Egypt. Hamas insists on a complete end to the war before accepting any deal.
