Global Movement Against U.S. Goods: Boycott America Trends Worldwide

The tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Canada, Mexico, and China have triggered trade wars and fueled a global movement against American products under the campaign ‘Boycott America.’ Over the past week, ‘Boycott America’ has been trending on Google. Additionally, several countries have created Facebook groups to promote the boycott of American goods.

Trump’s attempt to acquire Greenland, a partially autonomous territory of Denmark, has also contributed to this backlash. A Denmark-based Facebook group opposing the move has nearly 73,000 members, ranking second in search trends after Luxembourg. Sweden has emerged as the fourth-highest country searching for ‘Boycott America’ on Google.

Facebook pages have become a key tool for spreading anti-American product campaigns. A French-led page titled ‘Boycott America: Buy French and European’ has around 20,000 members and ranks third in Google searches. Canada is now at the forefront of the ‘Boycott America’ campaign and ranks fifth in Google search trends.
