Virginia, USA: The inaugural Global Munnuru Kapu Association (GMA) Conference was held with great enthusiasm in Leesburg, Virginia, USA. The two-day event, organized from August 30–31, brought together Munnuru Kapus from across the world on a common platform. Under the leadership of GMA President Venkat Peddi and Convention Convener Sangani Rajnikanth, along with founding members Praveen Andapalli, Dr. Janardhan, Dr. Ganesh Thota, Satish Pasupulate, Devesh Kumar, Vijay Dandyala, Muralidhar Rao, and other executive team members, the conference was successfully conducted. Hundreds of volunteers contributed tirelessly to make the event a memorable one with innovative programs arranged for the guests.
Distinguished Guests & Cultural Programs
Several eminent personalities graced the occasion, including former Andhra Pradesh minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, ex-Union minister Pallam Raju, Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose, music director Koti, magician Samala Venu, mimicry artist Mahesh Regula, Gangavva, Jayashree, and others from political, film, and spiritual backgrounds. Grand Opening
The event commenced on August 30 with a banquet dinner. GMA President Venkat Peddi, Convener Rajnikanth, and team performed traditional pooja rituals before formally opening the convention. Celebrations of Bathukamma and Bonalu, integral to Telugu culture, were showcased with vibrant dance performances to drumbeats in a festive procession. Guests joined in lighting the ceremonial lamp, and a souvenir highlighting GMA’s activities was released. Competitions such as beauty pageants for women, music contests, children’s magic shows, and fun activities added color to the program.
Highlights & Activities
One of the main attractions was Vedic Math sessions led by Gayatri Rajnikanth, which fascinated attendees with simple methods to solve complex problems. Other engaging activities included a youth cruise trip, matrimony meet, and GMA Saregama music competitions.
GMA Awards were presented to achievers in various fields, while donors, volunteers, and community leaders were honoured with shawls and bouquets. Members shared details of the social and community services carried out by GMA globally.
Inspiring Words from Chandrabose
Renowned lyricist and Oscar award winner Chandrabose captivated the audience by sharing his journey from humble beginnings to winning global recognition. His motivational talk particularly resonated with the youth, earning enthusiastic applause.
Cultural Extravaganza
Cultural events featured mimicry by Mahesh Regula, who entertained with imitations of political and film celebrities. A Telangana folk live band with popular singers brought the crowd to life with folk and film hits, adding vibrance to the celebration.
Spiritual Celebrations
As part of the conference, Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam was performed by Vedic scholars in a traditional manner. The ritual emphasised spirituality and devotion, with hundreds of devotees participating and receiving prasadam.

Several breakout sessions were conducted, including career guidance for students, political forums, business discussions, immigration talks, health seminars, youth and women’s forums, and matrimony events. Experts and dignitaries were invited to share insights and were later felicitated on stage.
