Donald Trump has shocked those wanting to work in the U.S. by increasing the annual H-1B visa application fee for foreign professionals to $100,000 through an executive order.

This move significantly impacts Indians and tech companies in the U.S., many of which hire Indian employees via H-1B visas.

Amazon leads in H-1B visa usage, followed by TCS. According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (June 2024-25):

Amazon – 10,044; TCS – 5,505; Microsoft – 5,189; Meta – 5,123; Apple – 4,202; Google – 4,181; Deloitte – 2,353; Infosys – 2,004;

Wipro – 1,523; Tech Mahindra Americas – 951; Oracle – 2,092; Amazon Web Services – 2,347; Cognizant – 2,493;

Walmart Associates – 2,390. Other U.S. companies hiring Indians on H-1B visas will also be affected.
