Baltimore, Maryland, USA: Johns Hopkins Graduate Student Shilpy Vohra Receives 2025 Quad Fellowship
After completing her initial medical training in India, Shilpy Vohra has notably led nationwide HIV awareness and prevention initiatives in the country.
Shilpy Vohra, a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, has been chosen for the prestigious 2025 Quad Fellowship, a highly competitive program.
The Quad Fellowship recognises outstanding graduate students from the United States, Australia, India, Japan, and other Southeast Asian nations, encouraging cross-cultural learning and collaboration across disciplines. Awardees receive a financial stipend to support their studies and gain access to specialised programming, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
Vohra is pursuing her Master’s in Public Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins. She has formal pediatric medical training from India and brings over ten years of experience across clinical, pharmaceutical, and public health sectors, including leading India-wide HIV awareness and prevention programs.
Reflecting on the fellowship, Vohra shared with Johns Hopkins University, “The timing of the fellowship perfectly fit my Master’s in Public Health schedule.”
She added, “Being part of an international cohort of Quad Fellows was incredibly appealing, as it offers the chance to learn from leading public health experts from the Quad countries.”
This year, 37 STEM students were selected for the Quad Fellowship, representing 11 nations and 13 academic disciplines across 25 universities in the United States and Japan. The program is managed by the Institute of International Education, a nonprofit established in 1919 to promote global education opportunities.
