Pakistan’s top court has granted bail to PTI leader Imran Khan in eight cases connected to the May 9 unrest, but he remains behind bars due to separate ongoing trials, including high-profile financial and state gifts cases.

Following the ruling, PTI hailed it as a “major win” on X. The May 9 incidents erupted after Khan’s arrest, leading to widespread protests and attacks on official sites.

Khan has nominated Mahmood Khan Achakzai for National Assembly Opposition Leader, selected Azam Khan Swati for the Senate, and is reviewing five contenders for the Punjab Assembly position.
