Singapore: Authorities were alerted to the case on Jan. 28, 2020, leading to the arrest of the accused following a coordinated investigation.
An Indian-origin Malaysian national, Rajwant Singh Gill Narajan Singh, was sentenced on Jan. 13 by a Singapore court to 12 years in prison and 15 strokes of the cane for posing as a “sugar daddy” and deceiving three women into sexual acts through online dating platforms.
The 38-year-old created a fake identity as a wealthy Caucasian man and manipulated the victims—identified as PW1, PW2, and V3—by promising financial rewards in exchange for sexual favors. Prosecutors described his actions as deliberate, cruel, and morally corrupt.
The court noted that PW1 suffered severe emotional trauma and was later diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, while PW2 left Singapore after learning she had been secretly recorded. The third victim, V3, was lured with false claims of a $20,000 monthly allowance, which she never received.
After the encounters, Singh allegedly threatened the women with the release of explicit recordings unless they paid him. He was arrested in a joint operation by the Singapore Police Force and the Royal Malaysian Police. Though charged in 2020, he later pleaded guilty to two cheating charges and had earlier received a separate sentence of four and a half years with compensation ordered.
