Dallas, Texas, USA: Manojh Lella, a 22-year-old student of Indian origin enrolled at the University of Texas at Dallas, was taken into custody on Monday after police responded to a call from his family at their residence in Dallas. Relatives contacted authorities after becoming alarmed by alleged threats made by Lella. Local reports indicated the situation was being treated as a possible mental health crisis.
According to Fox4news, family members informed officers that Lella had threatened to cause them harm and had attempted to set the house on fire several days earlier. He was subsequently booked into the Collin County Jail on charges of making a terroristic threat against a family or household member and arson with intent to damage a residence or place of worship. Police officials stated that the inquiry remains active and clarified that, at present, there is no evidence suggesting any threat toward a place of worship.
Bond has been set at $100,000 for the arson-related charge and $3,500 for the misdemeanor threat allegation.
