Toronto, Ontario, USA: An Indian-origin woman was discovered dead in Toronto, prompting police to issue a nationwide arrest warrant for a 32-year-old suspect.
Abdul Ghafoori, 32, is being sought across Canada in connection with the killing of Himanshi Khurana, a 30-year-old woman of Indian origin who was previously acquainted with him. Authorities have confirmed that a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Ghafoori. Investigators believe the incident may be linked to intimate partner violence.
Police located Khurana’s body inside a home near Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West. Officers were first alerted on Friday after receiving a missing person report. The following day, they entered the residence and found her deceased. Law enforcement has officially classified the case as a homicide, according to a statement released to the media.
Officials also stated that Ghafoori and Khurana were known to each other before her death. Police are urging anyone who may have information about the suspect’s location to come forward. A spokesperson said that an image of the suspect has been made public and appealed to residents to contact authorities if they recognize or know the whereabouts of Abdul Ghafoori.
