Indian Student Shot in Texas 7-Eleven, Critical in ICU

Irving, TX:  An Indian IT graduate, Deekshith Reddy, is in critical condition after being shot at a 7-Eleven store in Irving, Texas, on August 26.

Friends describe Deekshith as a hardworking and kind individual. He suffered severe injuries in the attack, including broken ribs, a fractured collarbone, and a punctured lung. Doctors are keeping him under close observation in the ICU as he undergoes multiple treatments.

Having only recently completed his degree and begun searching for a job in the IT field, Deekshith does not yet have health insurance. His medical expenses — covering surgeries, rehabilitation, and daily living needs — have placed immense financial stress on him and his family.

To help, friends and community members have set up a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser has already drawn strong support, collecting more than $33,000 from over 1,100 contributors, and is steadily approaching its $45,000 target.

Organizers assured, “Every contribution will be used to cover hospital bills, ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and basic living costs.”

Meanwhile, authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the shooting remains active.
