Hamilton County, Indiana: Soni faces two charges: attempted murder, classified as a Level 1 felony, and conspiracy to commit murder, a Level 2 felony.
Darshan R. Soni, an Indian American, has been taken into custody and is facing serious criminal charges for allegedly orchestrating a prolonged plan to murder his wife.
The alleged plot involved several steps over a period of months, including an unsuccessful attempt to poison her, a murder-for-hire proposal, and multiple efforts to conceal his involvement.
As outlined in a probable cause affidavit submitted in Hamilton County, Indiana, the 44-year-old reportedly enlisted an employee named Ken Cox to assist in the scheme.
Authorities say the original plan was to poison his wife, but after that failed, Soni allegedly aimed to stage a home invasion on May 16, 2025, during which the murder would be carried out.
