Italy Protests Erupt Over Melonis Refusal To Recognise Palestine

Pro-Palestine protests swept across Italy over the Gaza conflict and PM Giorgia Meloni’s refusal to recognise a Palestinian state.

Demonstrators blocked ports, roads, and railways, with over 60 police officers hurt and 10 detained in Milan.

Meloni condemned the unrest, saying destruction would not aid Gaza.

The rallies, coinciding with several countries recognising Palestine at the UN, also saw students in Turin and Bologna block universities.

The Gaza conflict, nearing two years, has cost over 65,000 Palestinian lives.
