JD Vance and Family Set to Visit India Amid Rising US-India Trade Tensions

The US Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance are expected to visit India soon. Reports suggest that the Vance family will be visiting India later this month. Last month, JD Vance made his first foreign trip to France and Germany, and now, his second international visit is likely to be to India.

Usha Vance has roots in Andhra Pradesh, as her parents migrated from India to the United States. She met JD Vance while studying in the US, and they later got married. After JD Vance’s victory in the recent US elections, he officially took charge as the Vice President of the United States. Reports indicate that the couple is set to visit India by the end of March.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has raised tariffs on India, which will take effect from April 2. This makes JD Vance’s India visit highly significant, as it might influence future changes in US-India trade policies. Additionally, Trump’s trade war has led to stock market crashes, wiping out billions in investor wealth and severely impacting the US economy. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met JD Vance’s family in France, gifted special presents to their children, and even attended Vance’s son Vivek’s birthday celebration. Modi also shared his appreciation on X (Twitter), to which JD Vance responded with gratitude.
